Sara Dowran, MSN, APRN, NP-C is a compassionate, board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience and more than 13 years of advanced practice in internal medicine.

She specializes in medical weight management, hormone optimization and replacement therapy, and thyroid care. Through a thoughtful, personalized approach, Sara combines strong clinical expertise with modern wellness strategies to support each patient’s unique journey—because she believes no two patients should be treated the same.

Through the ReNuMi virtual care platform, her goal is to reach and support more patients—including those in underserved and rural communities—by expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Sara Dowran, NP-C, MSN
Sara began her medical career after graduating from the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth in 2005.
She started clinical practice in 2006 as an ICU and PCU nurse at Medical City Dallas, where she developed strong critical care expertise and rapid clinical decision-making skills while caring for medically complex patients.

She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Adult Nurse Practitioner studies from Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in Dallas in 2013.
​
Since then, she has practiced internal medicine for more than 13 years across both inpatient and outpatient settings throughout Dallas, in collaboration with a respected hospitalist group—gaining extensive experience in managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Clinical Expertise
Sara’s clinical background includes:

Cardiovascular care: post–open heart surgery management, myocardial infarction, hypertension, hyperlipidemia

She has also provided comprehensive internal medicine care for patients recovering from both general and complex surgical conditions in rehabilitation settings.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sara dedicated over a year to caring for patients diagnosed with COVID-19, further strengthening her expertise in managing complex and high-acuity medical conditions.

Sara expanded her clinical scope by working in an OB-GYN practice for several years while continuing her work in internal medicine. This experience strengthened her expertise in women’s health and hormonal care and enhanced her comprehensive, whole-patient approach.
